Upper School (7th-12th Grade)

As our students mature, our Upper School program expands academic horizons and fosters spiritual growth

Our upper school program offers standard and honors level courses as well as online dual enrollment for students who qualify. It operates on an A/B Day schedule.

A Days operate on 7 50-minute periods that are lecture-driven and discussion-based. Hands on labs also occur on these days. There are 3 A days per week – Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

B Days separate the day into larger blocks of time and include corporate and individual work session blocks and mid-day electives. This encourages students to be accountable to their teachers but also allow them to have more flexibility to work the way they learn best.

Every wondered what a balanced school week looks like? At Wellmont Academy, most students are able to finish their work at school so that evenings can be utilized for enrichment and rest.

We encourage families to focus on the long haul. Unlike other hybrid schools, Wellmont focuses on giving students the classes they need to graduate, but also leaving room for leadership opportunities, and serving, especially in high school. We want our students to stay at Wellmont to become well-rounded individuals and to build and sustain solid transcripts for college and higher learning.

Our Academic Department offers career guidance and dual enrollment services. Students are encouraged to advocate for themselves in an environment of support in order to foster growth, maturity, and independence.
