Campus Program Classes and Teams
Extended learning daily campus programs offer exploration and personal development opportunities for Wellmont Academy and non-Wellmont Academy students during our 7th period (from 2:30pm-3:30pm). Our programs promote problem solving skills, time management, responsibility and perseverance. Students are given a chance to develop life and workforce skills through fun and cooperative programs.
Drone racing soccer is an exciting and innovative sport that combines elements of traditional soccer and drone piloting.
Teams of students pilot, design, and fly quadcopter and hexa-copter drones, which they build from the ground up with coaches. Student pilots use engineering and aerospace skills to design, maneuver, and coordinate their drones.
The fast-paced nature of the sport requires pilots to possess quick reflexes, precision control, and an understanding of drone flight dynamics.
Drone soccer competitions feature multiple rounds or matches, with teams competing against each other in a league or tournament format.
Workforce opportunities that utilize drone flight and aviation skills include:
- Aerial Photography/Videography
- Surveying and Mapping
- Agriculture
- Construction and Inspections
- Search and Rescue
- Environmental Conservation
- Delivery and Logistics
- Filmmaking and Entertainment
- Disaster Management
- Infrastructure Inspection
Our Drone Racing program runs Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, from 2:30-3:30pm.
- 3 day annual commitment, includes drone competition entry fees.
- Grades 7-12
- $120/mo
Martial Arts combines cardiovascular conditioning, strength training, and technical instruction. Students learn proper striking techniques, footwork, defensive maneuvers, and strategies for offense and defense. They also engage in partner drills, pad work, and sparring to practice their skills in a controlled environment.
Students develop situational awareness, learning to anticipate and respond to potential threats. As students become proficient in their techniques and gain experience through training, they develop a greater belief in their ability to protect themselves and others, should the need arise.
Training often includes discussions on awareness, conflict resolution, and de-escalation strategies to help individuals avoid potentially dangerous situations whenever possible.
Our Martial Arts and Self-Defense program runs on Wednesdays from 2:30-3:30pm.
- 1 day annual commitment, includes 2 performance exhibitions.
- Grades 2-12
- $100/mo
Guitar lessons provide personalized guidance and instruction to individual students or small groups of students (3-4 students). Lessons are tailored to the specific needs, skill level, and goals of the student, making them an effective and efficient way to learn and improve musical ability. Students are required to devote practice time each day at home, so a home instrument is required.
Prepared students will preform at the Christmas Production and may also be given an opportunity to play at the end of the year.
- 1 day annual commitment plus recitals
- Ages 9+
- $126/mo – private weekly lessons OR $60/mo – group lessons 2-4 students
Dalcroze Eurhythmics, also known simply as Dalcroze, is a music education method developed by Swiss composer and music educator Émile Jaques-Dalcroze. It is a holistic approach to music education that emphasizes the connection between music, movement, and rhythm.
Students are encouraged to use their bodies, solfege, their listening skills, to improvise, and to experience and internalize different rhythmic patterns, musical phrasing, and expressive qualities. Through guided movements and improvisation, students develop a sense of musicality and a strong physical connection to the music.
- Age Level K-1
- Mondays and Wednesdays 2:30-3:30
- Price: $1200 (120/mo)
Cooperative Programs
Cooperative Programs
Cooperative programs are programs that operate off campus and offer a variety of additional options for Wellmont students. Cooperative programs include sports teams, both competitive club teams and rec leagues, as well as our partner cooperative theater company.
Thanks to the cooperation and leadership of the FL State Congress, Representatives like Bernie Jacques, and Governor Desantis, smaller private schools in FL can now cooperate with larger private schools for the benefit of ALL private school students without losing funding. Students from cooperating schools can also participate in specific programs at other schools without losing their scholarships if the cooperating school is willing to work with them. Additionally, students may also participate in sports at their zoned public school.
Bridgework Theater Co. cooperates with Wellmont Academy, allowing our students to audition and participate in their program free of charge.
Through acting, writing, directing, or designing sets and costumes, students can express themselves and explore different characters and worlds.
Theater participation helps students develop confidence, boost public speaking skills, give them an emotional outlet, and help them develop self-confidence.
It is a collaborative art form that requires students to work together as a team. They learn to trust and rely on one another, fostering a sense of camaraderie and promoting teamwork skills.
For more information on auditions and upcoming shows, email Bridgeworktheatreco@gmail.com.
Wellmont Academy students participate in several competitive club organizations for their sports. This is not an exhaustive list, but includes several teams that our students participate in.
