Running Club

Mrs. Kulczar, Mrs. Carvin

Monday and Thursday 2:40-3:40pm

$25 per month, includes t-shirt

This team is for beginning through advanced runners in 5th - 12th grades.

Students participating in running club will improve their coordination, strength and endurance through individual and team effort work outs.

Our conditioning goals will be based around 5k races. However, longer runs will be available to those students that have 10k ambitions.

Training will be completed on and off campus each week. We utilize the surrounding neighborhood and parks for our distance runs. Each month one race will be available for students to participate in as part of achieving their goals and rewarding their efforts.

All sign up and race fees will be the responsibility of the individual club member. The list of races with their links for sign up will be available to students by the beginning of the 2016-2017 school year on the Running Club course page of Schoology.

Our season begins with temperatures in the 90's and can be a bit of a shock to students if they are not prepared. It is not mandatory for students to begin the season conditioned. However, it is strongly suggested that students wanting to participate in Running Club begin working on light conditioning over the summer. Students may request a summer work out schedule once they have signed up for Running Club.

Race fees are paid per race (generally $25 per race).
