Meet the Wellmont Staff
Our talented and loving crew of teachers are always excited about engaging with students and parents to promote a great learning environment and to prepare our students for success. We are privileged to have such a gifted group of leaders here at Wellmont.
Founder and Principal
Mrs. Marolf founded Wellmont Academy 7 years ago, and has been blessed to see it's growth spread beyond Pinellas County in such a short time period. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a Minor in Vocal Performance from Houghton College in 1995, founded Joyful Noise Children's Music in 1999, a program for toddlers and their parents, and in 2011, founded Wellmont Academy.
Upper Level Director, Schoology Administrator, Accounting
Mrs. Palmer has a tremendous talent for organization and passionately loves educating the children in her life. In 2000, she earned her Bachelors in Accounting from University of Florida, and served as a Corporate Accountant for 12 years before coming aboard the Wellmont leadership team.
Mrs. Materasso graduated in 2006 from St. Petersburg College with a BS in K-12 Exceptional Student Education in addition to her ESOL endorsement. She holds a valid Florida Teaching Certificate in K-6 Elementary Education, is a qualified homeschool evaluator and tutor. Mrs.Materasso has been blessed with two children, and is proud to be serving the homeschooling community.
Director of Process Improvement, Record Keeping
Mrs. Doyle’s background is in corporate process improvement, ISO9000 procedures, training staff and performing internal audits. Her previous employers include British Telecom North America, MCI, and Sykes. She is actively working on our documentation and record keeping to prepare Wellmont Academy for accreditation.
Mrs. Williams began serving and teaching children soon after high school. She received her AA from SPC in 2004 with a focus in education and taught preschool for 5 years in the classroom. She also ran her own child care center, in her home, for 3 years. She began homeschooling her 2 oldest children in 2012 and now has 4 children. She is passionate about sharing the gospel and the power of God’s Word with children and families. She enjoys leading worship at her church and has participated in several mission trips around the world.
Mrs. Carvin has been teaching and serving at Wellmont Academy since 2013. She has homeschooled her 5 children for 12 years and has taught 1st Grade at Wellmont for the last 4. She has also assisted as our Running Club coach when needed and taught Home Economics for our 7-12th Graders.
Mrs. Avila is originally from West Michigan. She graduated from Lee University in Cleveland Tennessee with a bachelors in Elementary Education and a minor in Bible. Her teaching experience includes teaching 1st and 2nd grade at Missionary Children's School in Indonesia and a private christian school on Indian Rocks Beach. Her husband is an assistant pastor at Abundant Life Ministries in Largo and she is a mother to two girls. She loves working with children and helping them become excited about learning academics and God's word!
3rd Grade, 7-12 Drama
Mrs. Ammons graduated from Trinity College of Florida in 2002 with a major in Bible and a minor in Elementary Education. She received a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Columbia International University.
Mrs. Schweiger received her BS from St. Petersburg College in K-12 Exceptional Student Education with an ESOL endorsement and is also qualified in Elementary Education. She taught Special Education and worked as a Family Educator with Head Start Preschool.
Mrs. Sango received her AA, with a focus on elementary education from Saint Petersburg College in 2008. She has taught preschool age children for 6 years through various Bible study and children’s programs. She has been homeschooling her children for three years and this is her family’s second year at Wellmont Academy.
Angie has been a teacher for 16 years and has taught at Wellmont for 3 year. She began teaching middle school grades at a local Christian school and has continued to teach mid-grades, as she has found this to be her gifting. Angie enjoys every opportunity to teach while home schooling at the same time.
Middle and High School Teachers
Kelly Zook, MD earned her BA in Biology from Eastern Mennonite University and her MD degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA. She completed a Pediatric Residency program with Nemours Children's Hospital and a Neonatal Fellowship Program at Nemours Children's Hospital/Jefferson University Hospital combination program. She currently practices Neonatology with Nemours Children's Hospital in Orlando and has 7 children. Foster care and adoption are passions of this family as well as third world missions.
General Science, Physical Science, Marine Biology, Chemistry, Student Council
Mrs. Provard has been a pediatric nurse at All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg for more than 20 years. She loves helping students learn science and making the process fun. She has been teaching in the Science department at Wellmont for 4 years.
Dennis DiNoia has been immersed in education for over 25 years. He holds a M.A. in Education from the University of South Florida and has been a Florida State Certified Secondary Mathematics Teacher since 1988. He has been named to Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers and is known to his students as Mr. D.
Ms. Porter holds a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts with an emphasis in painting and design. She has 2 sons and has been teaching K-12 art for more than 16 years while working as an artist in her downtown art studio. Ms. Porter has just received her third commission to paint an outdoor mural for the city of St. Petersburg.
Algebra I, Geometry
Mrs. Consigny earned a Bachelor’s degree with a double major in Information Technology and Marketing from the University of South Florida. She has ten years of experience as a Systems Analyst for a defense contractor in St. Petersburg and has a desire to help students develop a love for math.
Spanish I & II
Mrs. Lopez, was born and raised in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. Graduating with honors from the American Military Academy, she went on to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Precinct. She started teaching Spanish in 2010 to adults and continued in 2015 at the CHOSEN Co-op with 2-12 Grade Students. Additionally, she has founded several pageant companies including: Hazely Corp., Hazely Academy of Refinement and Modeling, USA Petite Pageant, and the Universal Petite Pageant.
Staff Nursery Care
Stacy Burnite has partnered with Tia Kulczar in our Nursery for 2 years. She is a licensed childcare provider and serves our staff children with love and a willing heart.
Pre-Algebra, Algebra II, Personal Finance, Career Placement, DIY
Mrs. Miranda earned a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in Ceramics and Photography. Her true love is missions and has participated in short term work in Kenya, Uganda, and Honduras. Mrs. Miranda and her family attend Bridgepoint Church in St. Petersburg.
Staff Toddler Care
Mrs. Kulczar is a certified personal trainer and aerobics instructor and a home school mom of 3. She has served in our Nursery for 4 years. She is a licensed childcare provider and serves our staff children with love and a willing heart.
Mrs. Marr and her husband of 14 years, Ryan, have four children under 11 years old. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education, with a minor in Bible from Clearwater Christian College. Before becoming a stay-at-home mom, Christine was the full-time Music Specialist at Cypress Woods Elementary School in Palm Harbor.

Mrs. Haley holds a BS in Early Childhood Education, with a Masters Certificate in Reading for K-12th grade. Becky and her husband have seven children and have been blessed to homeschool since day one.

Ms. Radford graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelors degree in Speech Pathology and minors in Audiology and Psychology. She has homeschooled her boys for the past 15 years. She is an avid reader of The Classics, Historical fiction and Contemporary fiction.
Apologetics, The Gospels, Life of Paul, 7-12 Drama, CLEP Speech
Chuck Ammons is the Teaching Pastor at South Brandon Worship Center in Brandon, FL. He holds both a Bachelors and a Master of Divinity degree in the field of Biblical Studies and Christian Ministry.
Volunteer Coordinator, Yearbook and Newspaper Staff Leader, Running Club Coach
Mrs. Geier has a heart for serving and finds great joy inspiring others to set and achieve goals based on their gifting. She has led teams working in impoverished areas as well as with refugees teaching skills to be used to earn income. Stacy has also spent time as an elementary cheer coach winning regional and national championships.
American Sign Language
Ms. Lindquist graduated from Moody Bible Institute with a degree in Bible Theology. In 2005, she traveled to Congo to teach grades 3,4,5, and 6 in a deaf school under Christian Mission for the Deaf.
