Reading and Brain Training
CLASSES FOR DYSLEXIA AND PROCESSING
At Wellmont Academy, learning is not simply about acquiring knowledge—it is about strengthening how a student’s brain processes, organizes, and applies information. Our Reading & Brain Training (RBT) program is a core expression of Strength-Based Christian Education, providing targeted, individualized instruction for students with dyslexia, processing challenges, or learning gaps.
While the Orton-Gillingham Barton Method is a foundational component of our literacy instruction, it is not the entirety of the program. RBT is intentionally tailored to strengthen the individual student. In addition to structured decoding and language development, students receive support in writing fluency, composition, and math foundations as needed. Individual math tutoring is also available for students who require additional reinforcement or acceleration.
Rather than simply helping students “catch up,” we build lasting academic capacity. Through mastery-based progression, consistent evaluation, and carefully sequenced instruction, students develop stronger neural pathways, increased confidence, and greater learning stamina—allowing them to thrive within their mainstream academic classes.
RBT sessions meet two, three, or four times per week based on student need, with summer reinforcement sessions to protect growth and sustain progress.

RBT IS ONLINE TOO
Wellmont Academy now offers Reading & Brain Training (RBT) online, making it possible for students to benefit from our strength-based academic support without being physically on campus. Families seeking targeted help for dyslexia, processing challenges, reading gaps, writing development, or math foundations can now access our individualized instruction remotely. Through structured virtual sessions, mastery-based progression, and personalized coaching, students can strengthen their cognitive skills and build confidence—wherever they are.
SCHEUDLE
RBT fees cover 40 weeks of classes, including 6 bonus weeks during the summer in order to continue progress and mastery. See our Tuition and Fees page for more information. For dyslexic students and those with processing challenges, the life-changing benefits of training the brain provide a solid foundation for the rest of their lives.

WHAT FAMILIES ARE SAYING ABOUT READING AND BRAIN TRAINING
Good Morning!
I just wanted to drop you a little note and tell you how much progress Brant is making in reading this year. He is really holding his own with little support, and I attribute his success to Reading and Brain Training. He has about 80 lessons under his belt and it has really built his confidence as a reader. We are so glad we started this journey with Wellmont and look forward to watching him continue to grow. Thank you for providing this service to our community. I wish more parents knew the value and impact it has on our dyslexic kids!
